I am a writer, tutor and social historian, and am constantly intrigued by people.

 

My biography of Herbert Sulzbach was published in January 2022 by Pen and Sword Books: 'A Jew who defeated Nazism. Herbert Sulzbach's Peace, Reconciliation, and a New Germany'. It can be purchased from the publisher, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or your usual bookshop.

 

I am currently writing the life stories of four women – my and my husband's grandmothers. Their fascinating lives cover a tumultuous time between 1879 and 1983 and were lived in Shropshire, London, Sussex, Germany and France.

 

The first account puts together – as far as possible - the retrieved jigsaw of the story of Henny Hartog (1897 – 1942) who lived in Frankfurt am Main, Jever and Wilhelmshaven in Germany before becoming a refugee in the mountain villages of south-west France.
